1955, the year the Ariel "Hunter Scrambler" was created, might well be considered the early teens of moto cross racing. Certain aware factories were awakening to the fact that there might be a market for "out-of-the-crate" dirt machines. The Ariel Company took their popular Red Hunter model, modified it slightly and made it available to the sporting rider as the Hunter Scrambler.
