Break th' Rules!
Writzel E. Morgan, 30 yr. old automobile mechanic from Lancaster, California upon purchasing his Honda Benly Super Sport early in May found that big things were in store as his "Standard Stock Transportation" CB-92 Honda broke the rules in Economy, then Racing Wins.
May 15th with only 300 transportation "to and from work" miles on his new 125cc Honda motorcycle Mr. Morgan entered the Castrol sponsored Motorcycle Economy Run... to his amazement (later announced) he not only won his class with an 167.9 mile per gallon m.p.g. feat, but also captured the overall best record of all entries...
Writzels "standard equipped CB-92" then returned to its transportation role for two weeks...with no modification except for removing his headlights and adding number plates. May 28th, he then entered the Cal Sports Car sponsored 13th annual Sports Car & Motorcycle Road Races at the world famous Santa Barbara race circuit...Writzel's standard little 125 seemed to be lost in the field of European factory road racers as it sat poised on the starting grid. The flag went down, and off the line shot Writzel and the New Economy champion CB-92...not only did the Honda get excellent mileage, but it lapped everything in the 125cc class except the 2nd place winner, and he beat this factory machine by a sizable margin. The little Honda 125 finished 16th overall ahead of many large racers from 175cc all the way to and including the 500cc + class.
Today as you read this story, there is a Honda Benly up Lancaster way doing what comes naturally...Giving Writzel E. Morgan dependable service to and from work economically!
