Heidelberg, Pa., June 14, 1959: BSA riders swept the field at famous Heidelberg Speedway with Dick Klamfoth, Groveport, Ohio riding his fast BSA Gold Star to a brilliant victory in the National Championship. In winning, Dick defeated a field of top-ranking experts from every corner of the nation. In the amateur class, Jim Koplinski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, BSA, set the fastest time at 24.50, then went on to win his heat and the Amateur Feature event.
