At first glance Stanley Stankos' 1948 Harley-Davidson, seen around the streets of Blue Island, Ill., looks like a mildly modified chop job, not too radical, still a very practical street machine. And that's just what it is, but, looking a little closer, especially at the engine, you can see that there've been some changes made!
The 74 inch OHV power plant has been worked over to displace 91 cubic inches with a 9 3/4 to one compression ratio. The bore is 3 11/16 inches and the stroke is 4 9/32 inches. to get this size bore, a pair of steel cylinders were made starting from scratch...
