There was a time when my garage held a Norton Commando 750. When the economy said "Sell," it was with a heavy heart that I sold it off to Bob the Plumber. Then I turned to the future with Satchel Paige's dictum on my sleeve: "Don't look back. something may be gaining on you."
A Seeley-framed Special is about as modern as Nortons get. But do they get any more handsome than the 1946 Garden Gate plunger-frame Manx? The Dunstall name was a Norton speed image for more than a decade.
Norton appearances are unconfused. Twins, like the Commando, are unmistakably so. The 1946 Model 18 declares "single." Rally fun-and-games include the beverage-can toss and egg-carry.
Take your pick of hardware for the slow race. You could try an ES2 with chair or a solo ES2. Select interlopers can be tolerated on Norton rides.
