1964 Go Little Honda LP Record Album by the Hondells available at www.DadsVintageAds.com in the "Motorcycle Gifts & Collectibles" category

Excellent, original, 1964 LP Record Album entitled, "Go Little Honda" by THE HONDELLS - featuring Richie Burns. Songs: Little Honda, Guy Without Wheels, Haulin' Honda, Two-Wheel Show Stopper; Wild One; Death Valley Run, Mean Streak, Black Boots and Bikes, Ridin' Trails, Honda Beach Party, RIP's Bike, Hot Rod High

"Little Honda" is a hit! And why not. This refreshing little cycle song that is already setting trail records on the hit sound hill climb has everything going for it. first of all, it was written by Brian Wilson, top tunesmith in the country; arranged by Gary Usher, another top songwriter; under the watchful eye of producer Nick Venet whose track record includes many huge hits. In addition to this already unbeatable combination, the fact that THE HONDELLS sing it on Mercury Records could only result in "Little Honda" becoming a winner.

The news is out, Hondas in, and another topical tune trend has been established. Trends come and go seem to change as often as the weather, but with the snow-balling popularity of Hondas on dirt tracks, or the soundtrack, I think this trend will be with us for some time. Speaking of the weather, everday it rains, I get a pain in my knee where I still carry a few small pieces of gravel that have been with me since the night, a few years ago, when I laid out on a Beezer on a freshly graveled road.

I will never forget my first bike... a 1937 Indian that had been laid down so many times that the paint was gone off both sides of the gas tank and the saddle bags had saddle sores. Those were the days when the cadillac of the cycle clan was a Harley Hog with a polished truss rod, white sidesaddle bags with chrome stars, and more accessories than a Western Auto store. Then along came a movie called "The Wild One" and lightweights were the rage. When you think of lightweights, you automatically think of Honda and when you think of the song "Little Honda" you think of the Hondells. In this album, along with "Little Honda" there are eleven other top competitors for a poll position.

The story of the Hondells is almost too easy to tell, as it deals primarily with one young man...Richie Burns! The reason for this is quite simple, for although the group is relatively new as a unit, Richie began his career while still in the fifth grade at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, Bethesda, Maryland. Born May 4, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, Richie moved to Bethesda while in grade school. Here he formed a singing group and they performed at school functions. After graduation he attended the University of Maryland where he continued to pursue his musical career at dances etc. Richie came to Southern California in 1962 when he then formed The Hondells. They worked fraternity and sorority parties at UCLA and USC and are on of the top groups in southern California.
