Vintage 1909 / 1910 Wagner Mail Carrier R.F.D. Mailman Motorcycle





Anyone for R.F.D. Mail? Soon after rural free delivery was inaugurated, many of the rural mail carriers covered their routes on a motorcycle. The ones who made the single cylinder Wagner, built in St. Paul, Minnesota, were proud of their sales to postmen. At one time they claimed that more Wagners were in use by R.F.D. men than any other make of motorcycle...

Mike Hailwood, left, F.I.M. World Champion tried out the 1962 Harley-Davidson 250cc Sprint H during a recent visit to the Aermacchi Harley-Davidson factory in Varese, Italy. With Mike is one of Europe's all-time motorcycling greats, Nello Pagani, who won the World Championship in the 125cc class in 1949.

Dud Perkins goes for lunch: This photo, taken at Daytona Beach, shows vereran Harley-Davidson dealer, and now Senior member of the Competition Committee, Dud Perkins of San Francisco. It is apparently lunch time and Dud is shown with two bags of food enroute from the concession stand to the Harley-Davidson pits. How lazy can a man get? On the other hand, it may be that motorcycles and scooters are partly responsible for Dud's excellent health.
