1974 Norton 850 John Player Special

The Norton 850 Commando arrives at an intersection...somewhere between Brands Hatch and Tobacco Road. There is a natural selection in motorcycling. Consider the kickstart lever of the 850 Norton. Some nine inches in length, the lever demands real muscle or weight to swing it through its arc. Those who can't drop the lever down smartly, or those who don't want to learn, or those who don't want to be bothered - they all will pass to less formidable motorcycles. It's a peuliar process of natural selection. Under-achievers may want a Norton, but find themselves unequal to the starting task. You may choose it, but bikes like the Norton must also choose you... 1974 Norton 850 John Player Special Road Test 5-Page Article available at www.DadsVintageAds.com CLICK THE PICTURE TO "BUY IT NOW"
