Englishman Phil Read has streaked to his second straight World 250cc Grand Prix Championship. The title was gained in international competition with the finest motorcycle racers in the world. Read, a member of Yamaha Factory Racing Team, piloted his 2-cylinder Yamaha "Factory Works" RD-56 to victories at Daytona, West Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, and Ireland. Read's winning efforts were supported by Yamaha's Mike Duff, who finished second to Read at Daytona, West Germany, Spain and Ireland aboard his Yamaha RD56. Yamaha RD-56 features the same basic engine that Yamaha utilizes in its production models.

1969 Miss Modern Cycle Contest Winner
The winner of this months Miss Modern Cycle Contest is a lucky fellow, indeed! Al Rieske of Detroit, Michigan entered his 1955 Triumph show bike in the Cleveland Autorama Show. During the show Al snaped this shot of Miss Kathy McDonald, March Playmate, seated on his machine. Further icing was added to the cake when Al's bike was awrded first in the Show Bike Class.
