1972 Choppers - Bob Von Sol "Four in Exchange"
Cover: "Four in Exchange" - Through the magic of capitalism, Bob Von Sol turned his 1923 bucket T into a 750 Honda Four. That's a neat enough trick in itself, but when you add an E.M.E. girder and a peanut tank, you've got a conversion process which smacks of alchemy and witchcraft. They used to bury people under rocks for that in New England. Alive. But that's OK. Von Sol is from the San Fernando Valley, and the only thing they bury people for there is smog poisoning.
Feature Chops: Four in Exchange, It Seemed Like a Good Idea, Craftsman's Triumph, Double Exposure; Tech Things: Speed Secrets for the Honda Four; Don't get a hawg in a poke; Honda Coil for your Triumph; S.U. for the 45; Special Features: Of Directors, bikes, films and the angels - Roger Corman and Richard Rush discuss their cycle flicks; Project Hond Four part 4; more

1973 Choppers - A rare photo of Derek Davidson and his 74 "A Classic Case"
Cover: "A Classic Case" - This is a rare photo of Derek Davidson and his 74. True, Davidson's bike is a classic roadster that has the credentials to be the ultimate serious profiling machine, but it was built to be more than just a showpiece. The fatbob was built with the idea of running seven days a week all year long, with a minimum of mechanical DNFs, and Davidson tells us that that's just how it works. The particulars are inside.
Feature Chops: A Classic Case, What's a Nice English Girl Doing on a Scooter Like This?, Chopper John Rides again and again and..., Giveaway Chopper; Tech Things: Rake it Right!; Choosing your bike; Honda Coil for Triumphs 1969 and later; Project Honda Four part 10; Bolt-On Disc for your Girder; Special Features: A Day in the Life of a Chopper Mechanic; My First Chopper; more

1972 Choppers - Bill Roberts, three crashes later... "Skinned Knuckle"
Cover: "Skinned Knuckle" - Sometimes it takes a rebuild or two to get a bike right. For Bill Roberts, it took three tries to get his knucklehead right. Mainly because every time he got it up, he got centerpunched by an old lady with kamikaze tendencies. Three times. Roberts uses his scoot for careful putting around the Bay area, watching for those damned left-turners.
