1969 Honda Mini-Trail - Honda enters the mini-bike market with a real winner

...For some years now a machine known as the Honda Monkey bike has been available in Europe. The Monkey bike was, and is, a mini-bike, pure and simple. Honda felt that the mini-bike market in this country was marginal, and consequently made no effect to sell the smallest Honda to the American public. When the size of the mini-bike boom became apparent the marketing experts at Honda reconsidered their earlier decision. Finally it was decided that there was a definite market for the Monkey bike in this country. The design of the Monkey was altered slightly to meet the needs of the American public and the updated machine went into production...
