1983 Yamaha Venture Royale

Three long years ago, when we decided to build the ultimate touring machine, we made one simple request of our engineers. Get lost. And they did. Maps in hand, fuel tanks full, they set out to tour the country on motorcycles. The competitions' motorcycles. They toured coast to coast. Border to border. Through everything from thunder storms to desert heat. On everything from interstates to dirt roads. And when they weren't actually riding the bikes, they were studying them. Piece by piece. Scrutinizing. Analyzing. Looking for ways to make them lighter; more efficient, more powerful, more comfortable, more durable. In other words, looking for ways to build the ultimate touring machine. On the road, they talked and listened. Swapping stories with seasoned veterans at rallies, events, truck stops and intersections. From every complaint, compliment, opinion and word of wisdom the engineers learned a little something more. By the time they finally parked again for good, they had acquired enough knowledge to write a book on touring. Or build the ultimate touring machine. Which brings us to the subject of this ad. The new Yamaha Venture and the deluxe Venture Royale.
